Analysis of Landing Gear Noise with a Lattice Boltzmann Method Implemented on GPU based HPC Systems

Abstract

For the analysis of landing gear noise, a lattice Boltzmann method is used for the prediction of the flow field. To port the numerical method such that it can be executed on GPU based HPC hardware, the solvers OpenMP parallelization is transformed by using the parallel standard template library defined in the C++ standard 17/20. Performance results are presented for AMD Epyc processors installed at HRLS of the Univ. of Stuttgart and Nvidia A100 GPUs installed at the Research Center Juelich.
