Solving heterogeneous geophysical problems on heterogeneous architectures

Vladimir Voevodin and Victor Stepanenko (Moscow State Univ.)

Abstract

The Earth system modeling is an all-times challenging task in science and supercomputing. The heterogeneity of mathematics and informational structure of those models is caused by heterogeneity of the real physical system. In this talk, we provide examples of how heterogeneous geophysical problems (atmospheric boundary layer simulation and land surface modeling) are tackled on heterogeneous computational systems in Moscow State University.
