Future Direction of Osaka University’s Data Infrastructure towards Open Science#

Hideyuki Tanushi (Osaka University)

Abstract#

Osaka University operates a data aggregation infrastructure, ONION as a part of the supercomputing system, SQUID. ONION aggregates data both on-campus and externally and enables ONOIN users to utilize the aggregated data on SQUID. Initially, ONION was exclusively available to SQUID users. However, it has now extended its services to non-SQUID users for the purpose of archiving research data. Osaka University promotes Open Science throughout the institution, and Cybermedia Center is dedicated to expanding ONION’s functionalities to support Open Science. In this talk, the speaker will present one of the projects to enhance ONION’s functionalities - the development of an application module prototype using a less burdensome method for researchers. This module is designed to simplify the application process of publishing research data stored in ONION.
