This presentation reflects on the past 20 years of Japanese HPC evolution, drawing on key institutional experiences. We will revisit landmark projects—including NAREGI, BioGrid, and PRAGMA—sharing insights on infrastructure and policy development. The talk focuses on the intersection of research computing and human resource cultivation, outlining essential expectations and strategies for the next two decades of global HPC leadership.
