Levante - The Next Generation System at DKRZ#

Abstract#
Thomas Ludwig will present the latest details on the new DKRZ system called Levante. Levante improves the computational power of the predecessor Mistral by a factor of more than 4 and the storage volume by a factor of 2. It is mainly equipped with CPU-based nodes but has also a small partition with GPUs. First codes are ready to use this partition efficiently, Power consumption is higher that with Mistral and requires a new cooling system due to facility restrictions. We will present a projection about the next generation system, which shall be handed over to the users in 2028 according to our schedule.
